Mazda 2 Beats Ford Fiesta

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

The respected motor vehicle industry journal, NRMA Open Road magazine, has put to the test Mazda’s 18-month-old Mazda 2 model against Ford’s new Fiesta in its current March/April edition.

In last year’s Australia’s Best Cars Awards, the Mazda 2 was the clear Small Car category winner, but with the new Fiesta attracting attention in the small car sector, Open Road was keen to compare their performance, driveability and aesthetics.

Among the experts were Tim Pomroy and Scott Nargar, both members of the Best Car judging panel, who concluded that, overall, the Mazda 2 “is a more refined package and has a more comfortable ride and smoother driveline”.

History of Eurocars Mazda

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

The award-winning Mazda Eurocars Artarmon dealership has been family-owned and run by the Garner family for just under 30 years, ensuring a continuity of service and quality that none of its competitors can match.

The father of current Eurocars Mazda Dealer Principal, Tim Garner, bought the Eurocars business in 1980 when it was a European car dealership importing and selling models such as Alfa Romeos and Fiats in Crows Nest.

In 1985, it was converted to a specialist Mazda dealership and its name was changed to Eurocars Mazda. As the business expanded, it moved to larger premises at 339 Pacific Highway, Artarmon, where its state-of-the-art Mazda showroom and Eurocars Mazda Service Centre remains today.

When his father retired, Tim Garner took over as Eurocars Dealer Principal and has guided the business to a national Mazda dealership ranking of third for new and used car sales.

Eurocars Mazda has twice won the prestigious Mazda Master Dealer Award (2008, 2009), which is issued annually by the Mazda Guild to only 15 dealerships across the country.

All-new 2009 Mazda6: Sophisticated and Smart

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

The all-new 2009 Mazda6 was specifically designed to cater to the demands of the North American market. The car is visually different and bigger than Japanese and European counterparts and offers plenty of Mazda’s characteristic Zoom-Zoom energy.

The 2009 Mazda6 gets bold new bodywork, a stylized grille flanked by jewel-like headlamps that flex into flared fenders with prominent wheels. A 4.5-inch stretched wheelbase, expanded width and dimensions, give it a more aggressive stance. The car’s sleek aerodynamic profile improves the co-efficient of drag by 10 percent. The Mazda6 comes in 7 trims: I SV, I Sport, I Touring, i Grand Touring, S Sport, S Touring, S Grand Touring.

Power comes from a 2.5L four-cylinder base engine (i models) mated to either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. The step-up 3.7L V6 powers the S Sport, S Touring and S Grand Touring. The only transmission option is a six-speed automatic with a manumatic sport shift feature. The North American Mazda6 is available only as a four-door sedan.

The 2009 Mazda6 i SV includes standard features such as AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio, power accessories, air conditioning and a tilt/telescoping steering column with multifunction steering wheel. Sport trims add cruise control and keyless remote; Touring features a power driver’s seat, trip computer, and pushbutton start, while Grand Touring gets dual-zone A/C, full leather trim, dual power/heated buckets, Xenon headlamps and LED taillamps. Options include a navigation system and a Bose audio/moonroof group for the two top trim levels and a Convenience Package for the Touring.

The 2009 Mazda6 is of the style and scale that will attract enthusiast buyers in the C- and D-sedan segments. The midsize sedan segment is the most competitive and the Mazda6 will take on some of the most popular cars in the auto industry. This new entrant takes Mazda sophistication to new heights, adding new four-cylinder and V-6 powerplants with a punch that was lacking in its predecessors.

Mazda Rotary Engine 40th. Anniversary

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Mazda has recently announced 400 Limited edition supply of RX-8 . These will be equipped with bespoke 18′ aluminum wheels and Alcantara seat trim. It will also be fitted with a aerodynamic rear spoiler. Body color choice is either Crystal White Pearlescent or Grey Mica. The leather Alcantara red & black combi seats and luxury room carpets will also be available to choose from.

RX-8 in U.S.A
RX-8 is a popular Japanese car import by Mazda Motor Corporation. The car first began to sell in the United States in 2001. It succeeded another Japanese car import, the RX-7.

The RX-8 has gained pop cult status as a Japanese car import. It has even been featured in many movies and videos, most notably in the movie Need for Speed: Tokyo Drift where the character Neela drives a turbocharged RX-8. Many used car auction have RX-8 offerings, especially in online Japanese auction sites for Japanese used cars.

Mazda RX-8 Design
One of the signature design cues of the RX-8 which makes it so famous among enthusiasts is the rear-hinged ‘freestyle’ doors. This ‘freestyle’ layout gives the RX-8 a ’suicide’ door appeal and, functionally makes the rear seats a lot easier to get in to.

Power of Rotary
Rotary engine was first invented in 1957 by a German Engineer named Felix Wankel. He believed in 4 strokes as to be achieved while rotating. Initially there was no success in the automobiles and it disappeared from the vehicle manufacturers engineering labs until Mr. Masuda Tsuneji identified the potential and worked with NSU in the research and development of rotary engine.
The RX-8 is also a powerful car. It uses a naturally aspirated, 1.3L Renesis rotary engine which can develop a maximum of 246 hp at 8,500 rpm with the sustained redline pegged at 8,500 rpm and a peak redline at 9,000 rpm. The engine performed well enough to win the International Engine of the Year and Best New Engine awards in 2003.

Mazda RX-8 in the Market
The RX-8 is a great car option for buyers, as seen in many online Japanese auction. The RX-8 is a finely tuned performance car, able to achieve a near 50:50 eight distribution through a number of engineering feats used in the car.

The RX-8 is readily available in Mazda showrooms and other car dealers. However, there is also a number of used car dealers who have a number of Japanese used car offers in their stock. ,Japanese used cars, if properly treated, can still be very serviceable. It is advisable to deal with reputable used car dealers when you buy Japanese used cars, however. Also, it is important to consider the warranty you get as used car warranty offerings vary depending on the used car dealer.
